Jayant Karve

Director & CEO

Jayant is working on medical device innovations for both global and local markets. He has more than fourteen years of experience in industry in the domain of medical devices. Previously, Jayant led explorations in Gastroenterology/Minimally Invasive Endoscopy Procedures to identify unmet clinical needs and business opportunities for global markets at Boston Scientific. At GE Healthcare, he successfully led development of various diagnostic x-ray products from concept to manufacturing implementation. He also explored opportunities for diagnostic x-ray products as a part of GE Healthcare initiative "In India for India". Jayant has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Government College of Engineering Pune and Masters of Design from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Jayant successfully completed a Stanford India Biodesign Fellowship- a joint Program between Stanford University, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and IIT Delhi. Jayant has completed Executive Management program at IIM Bangalore. At Saïd Business School, Oxford University, he completed Science, Innovation and Policy Leadership Program.

Shrikumar Suryanarayan

Director

Shrikumar was formerly the President of Research and Development and Chief Scientific Advisor at Biocon Limited, the largest life-science company in India for over 25 years. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer for the Translational Health Sciences and Technology Institute (THSTI) at the National Capital Region Biosciences Cluster, Government of India from 2009-2010.

Rajendra Prasad

Prasad is a leader with broad-based transferable skills in sales, marketing, operations and general management. He has proven expertise in expanding product lines, increasing revenue streams and capturing market share in a highly competitive Pharma & Medical Device Industry. He has served in the role of Head of Marketing and Innovation for India and Emerging Markets in various multinational organizations. He has had hands-on P&L role in, strategic planning and initiative management, multi-site operations, recruitment and training, team building and project management. He met or exceeded revenue/ development objectives for 25+ years in India and Emerging Markets. He has previously worked for companies such as Novartis, Serdia (Servier) , Stryker, M&Y and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Medical.

Krupakar Pasala

Technology Manager

Krupakar has recently completed the Biodesign Fellowship from School of International Biodesign at AII India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He underwent the process of identifying unmet clinical needs and developing frugal solutions for the Indian healthcare system. Developed an understanding of the Indian, Australian and Japanese healthcare systems and the patient and product pathways at different levels of these systems. Also underwent exercises in market research, IP generation in the areas of Geriatrics and Diabetes. He also worked on a device for easy sampling of blood for making Dried Blood Spots. Krupakar has a Post Graduate Degree in Product Design from Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing at Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Krupakar believes impact in healthcare can be made by developing affordable and sustainable solutions indigenously.
